Frosted Mason Jars

FROSTED MASON JARS

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

CONTACT PAPER
FROSTED SPRAY PAINT
MASON JARS
PEN
IMAGE TO TRANSFER
SCISSORS
TEA LIGHT (REAL OR BATTERY)

Select an image to trace on to the contact paper, print it out.  You could also free hand on a design in you wish.
Cut out the design using scissors of a razor blade (be careful).
Peel off backing of the contact paper and position the contact paper were you would like it on the mason jar.  Make sure all of the edges are well stuck to the jar.
In a WELL VENTILATED area (such as outdoors) spray a coat of frosted spray paint on to the jar.  Spray over the contact paper.

Let Dry.  Add a second coat if needed and let dry.

Carefully peel off the contact paper.
Add your filling, sand, rocks, or anything else that will go well with your décor.  Then pop in a tea light.  **NOTE: You will not be able to put the lid on the jar if you are using a real tea light.  So I suggest the battery operated kind.

Done.

Pretty simple really.  We were able to make 12 jars with only two stencils of Batman and Dorothy.

I got the original idea from a frosted mason jar for sale in Walmart, but I did not want to shell out the $5+ for each jar.   Then I personalized the jars to fit my renewal theme.

March 1st, 2014

My husband and I decided that 2014 was the year for us to finally have the wedding we never had, while renewing our vows.  It was ONLY seven years after the fact :)   We had a Batman and Dorothy theme.  Strange, I know.  If you knew my husband and me you would think it was perfect.
