Monsters Inc Inspired Ceiling Fan

So...We are expecting baby #3 in November!  Seven years after our last.  These past few months we have been converting our fourth bedroom into a nursery and transferring everything back into the study.

One of the things that I wanted to do was put ceiling fans in my daughters room, her brother already had one that was too small for the space it was cooling.  So we bought two matching ceiling fans and took down the tiny all white ceiling fan to put into the nursery.  Which is by far the smallest bedroom in the house, so it would work perfect.

The only issue was that I had never liked the all white fan.  All of our other lighting fixtures are rubbed bronze.

I ended up still having a can of Rust-Oleum paint that I had used for another GOLD ceiling fan and some GOLD door knobs from when we first moved in two years ago (I DO NOT advise using this for door knobs, they become sticky from all of the oils from hands and chip easily).
Rust-Oleum Universal Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic Spray Paint (Actual Net Contents: 11-oz)
I used this to paint the base of the white fan, so that it at least matched all of other lighting fixtures in the house, because lets be honest it was driving my nuts to have ONE lighting fixture white.

For the fan blades I just went to Wal-Mart and picked out spray paint and a sponge.  I did not want a streaky look that acrylic paint can often have if you hand paint with it.  I also was not sure how well it would stick to the already slick white fan blades.

I still MAY put an Eyeball on the green one for Mike and a white sock on the striped blade, but I believe it turned out rather cute without those additions.
