Melted Crayon Flower Art

My 1st Creation

 WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

-CANVAS (I USED 8X10)
-CRAYONS
-RIBBON (OPTIONAL)
-HOT GLUE GUN & STICKS
-HEAT GUN OR HAIR DRYER
-ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS

Select 6 Crayons to use in your project.  You can make them match your flowers, like I did.  Or you can choose whatever your heart desires.

Find you need to find the center of your canvas.  Put a small mark with one of the crayons in the middle of the canvas.  This will help you keep the crayon flower pot centered on the canvas.

Use the hot glue gun to glue the flowers to the canvas, name brand side up.  Start with the middle two crayons and work your way out on both sides.

Let the hot glue cool down for a few minutes.

Next turn on your heat gun or hair dryer and begin to melt the crayons.  From personal experience using Crayola crayons you should aim the gun/dryer at a downward angle after the 'C' in Crayola.  Any higher will cause the wax to pour out of the bottom of the crayons.

After a few minutes the crayons will begin to drip onto the canvas.  From then on you can control which way the wax drips by using your gun/dryer to push the wax different ways.

Keep melting until you get your desired results.

Let the wax cool.

Separate your flowers from the artificial flower bunch.

Completely remove ALL of the pieces that are holding the flowers together. Take them completely apart, petals and all.
You will also need to trim the middle pieces of the flowers flat on the back.

Next you are going to take two of the flowers and add the petals together using hot glue to make one flower.  This step is ONLY needed if you have used the cheaper flowers from the Dollar Tree, etc.  It will make the flowers look much fuller.

After gluing the petals together, glue the middle piece back into your flower.

Then just hot glue the entire newly made flower anywhere you wish on your canvas!

Add a bow if you are like me and just felt it needed something a little extra :)
